BRITISH RED CROSS SOCIETY,

Dear Sir

COUNTY OF LONDON BRANCH.

PADDINGTON

DIVISION.

PADDINGTON V.A.D. HOSPITAL,

37 PORCHESTER TERRACE, W.

June 11th1917

Miss A.E.Gorham, a Sister of the Government Civil

Hospital at HongKong, has, following the advice of the

Colonial Office, and by their kind permission, been working as Matron at this Hospital for the last two months and has

done invaluable work for us.

Her furlough will shortly expire, and she is due

She informs us that she is entitled

to a retiring pension in July 1918. In view of this fact, and

of the great shortage of trained Nurses in this country, we would

like to enter the strongest possible plea that we may be allowed

to retain her here.

Of course we would not ask for anything that would

jeopardise her pension, but short of doing this, we do urge our

claim on behalf of tis Hospital.

Rt. Hon. Walter Long

Believe me

youre faithfully

Mr. Remptortel

Commandant
